SO, I'm gonna go ahead and start a rough "comments policy,"

...which my cohorts are more than welcome to add onto, revise, adapt, nuke, or what they will. We have been discussing this already, however.

As the title of the blog implies, and as the first several posts should suggest, this is a place where we are discussing the intersection of two things that matter dearly to all four of us blogging here--feminism and BDSM. This is -not- a place to rehash eternal arguments about the inherent value of either one, whether the two are, in fact, compatible (hello, basis of ENTIRE BLOG, not up for debate), or whether we are reactionary tools of the patriarchy, ev0l feminazis, deluded fuckbots, fembots, sexbots, or OppressO'bots. (Although we might discuss 'bot fetishism at some point).
We reserve the right to refuse service; my own personal motto, which may or may not be adapted by the others, is "no shoes no social skills no service." Actually, I don't really care about the shoes. Those who ignore this will be directed to various outside sites that might be more suitable, mocked, and/or deleted, not necessarily in that order.

Having said that, discussion and consensual gay banter are certainly more than welcome. And no, you absolutely don't have to be an expert on either subject to participate, and yes, as far as I'm concerned, respectful questions are fine (we may add a FAQ eventually); we are not "advanced" anything, hell, we all start tabula rasa, there's no shame in not knowing shit.

Just don't be an asshole.

We trust that you know the difference.

Mmmm, sex droids.

And I'm experimenting with a "never ban, never ax comments, save when they're actually threatening" policy at TSA (which is why NoPornNoHO isn't banned over there, incidentally.)

If rads have a desperate need for gettin' their hate on I may set up a "sandbox" post where anyone can say anything they want about BDSM, pro or anti, gloves off, and we can point 'em that way.

But yeah -- NOT. HERE.

yeah, I think personally I'm gonna be a lot less liberal about deleting. If someone's becoming a sucking black hole of energy wherein all useful debate is disappearing--buh bye. This ain't a democracy, and I ain't your mamma. also, trolls bore the shit out of me. and I hate to be bored.

...rather than a post, I'd almost rather just go ahead and set up another blog or livejournal altogether, the way Ren did for a while; go safe sanely and consensually wrangle it out there. If we do that at all. I can't believe there aren't already a zillion places where people are doing just that...

Oh, no,I don't mean *here*, I mean at TSA.

Mainly, I want a place where their stuff's not deleted, so's when people say "anti-SM people are never mean! It's you mirrorshaded toppy wannabe Interwebz cops DOMINATING EVERYONE COZ IT WETTENS YAR PUSS who are MEEN CENSORZ" I can just go "*bam*, have a link!"

But I'm devious (deviant?) like that

see, I just don't even give a fuck what "they" say.

but, if it starts to feel like the energy of bottling it up is more--
well. I'd do what Ren did, then, move it outside for a couple of weeks, leave a link "look, this is what it looks like" and then, if it starts looking pointless, stop updating that.

and anyway we could already point to anti's refusing to print shit that doesn't agree with their worldview, hell, that's partly why this got started in the first place...

True. Yeah. I'm, again, more for the disemvoweling than the zappy, but like I said I don't think Blogger allows it.

What you can do is delete, then repost with alterations to your liking.

i'm itching to try out the Borkinator, meself...

Yeah, this is tricky.

Right now all moderation is off, but there doesn't seem to be a way to moderate specific posts, or a way to let all authors moderate comments.

Can you delete comments made from specific posts of yours once made? Or can only I do that?

Liking the idea of an FAQ. Let's get on it.

belledame222 said...

yeah, I get the little trash can at the bottom of everyone's posts in the posts I authored.

The simplest thing with blogger, if you just don't want assy comments to appear at all, is click the option for comments not appearing until approved by a moderator. I'd like to hold off on that for now, but if it starts getting out of control assy, then maybe that's something to consider.

belledame222 said...

Oh, and you can make any one posts "no comments allowed" at any point, i.e. you can freeze comments if one particular post is getting too out of hand. I don't think you can mod one post one way and another in another way, tho'.

JackGoff said...

Well, you can set each post according to whether you wish to have comments or not, but the moderation setting applies to every single post, yes.

belledame222 said...

yeah, that's what I meant.

I'll trying being respectful, despite my severe lack of social skills.

Now, remind me again - am I supposed to make eye contact while talking, or not?
